Lucas, a 33-year-old Brazilian, lived in Portugal and traveled to Turkey. His death was reported in October 2026. Coverage describes a period in immigration custody in İzmir and conflicting accounts of what happened afterward.

The family requests transparency, documents and an investigation to clarify the circumstances of his death. The cause and any potential responsibility are not presented here as established conclusions.

To the Turkish and Brazilian authorities: clarify the sequence of custody, the care provided and the circumstances of the death, with documentation and effective cooperation.

The family requests an inventory, the location and the return of Lucas’s belongings. The safekeeping of these items and the chain of custody must be clarified.

Preserve the smartphone, accounts and digital records. The family reports seeing a typing indicator on Instagram; that signal alone does not prove that the device was accessed.

The family denounces the treatment received and calls for answers from the Turkish state, under the Erdoğan government. If irregularities are identified, we demand accountability.

Lucas’s family and friends have come together to seek the truth and demand justice. The fundraiser supports the costs of following the case and enabling an independent investigation.

  • New lawyers in Brazil and the necessary legal assistance.
  • Independent expert examinations, forensic medical assistance and technical analysis of documents and evidence.
  • Private investigation and preservation of evidence, subject to feasibility and legal requirements.
  • Other expenses necessary to seek answers and justice.

With questions unanswered and responses the family considers insufficient, we will continue demanding transparency from the Turkish authorities. We will pursue the means needed to clarify what happened to Lucas.
